Can I reccomend subscribing to Jonathan DeBoyne Pollards beta program for "Internet-Utilities" ? Jonathan has been developing for some time a powerful set of tools which would make life a lot easier for the forum ! [file_id.diz] A native Pure 32-bit suite of Internet utilities for OS/2, including two Proxy DNS Servers, seven Content DNS Servers, a replacement DNS client library DLL, several utilities for querying the DNS in various ways, NNTP feed utilities, and an NTP client. Latest mods (version 1-15 - dropped: 21st.October 2004) IU-1-15.RAR 367769 10-18-04 1:38a JdeBP's Internet Utilities, version 0.1.15 . A native Pure 32-bit suite of Internet utilities for OS/2, including two Proxy DNS Servers, seven Content DNS Servers, a replacement DNS client library DLL, several utilities for querying the DNS in various ways, NNTP feed utilities, and an NTP client. *CLOSED PRE-RELEASE DISTRIBUTION TO TESTERS ONLY. DO NOT DISTRIBUTE PUBLICALLY.* NNFEEDG now supports a /BACKFILL option. The /IP option for various servers given in the documentation has been corrected to /SERVERIP. The last resort of the domain name qualification procedure now properly returns fully-qualified domain names. The documentation for DNS{,D,H,O,T}SD and DNS{F,R}CPD now includes sample run files for use with RUNSVC. MD2MB is now MAKEMB. MAKEMB now has an undocumented /ADDSTAMP option. An outdated reference to "DNSNSGET" in MAKEOBJ has been corrected. The installation instructions in the "ReadMe" have changed to reflect the new capabilities of the SHELL.RUN mechanism. HTTPD now has /INDEX and /DEFMIMETYPE options. HTTPD now supplies last modification and creation date information. An error in HTTPD that would result in the actual size of the message body not matching the value in the "Content-Length:" header has now been fixed. HTTPD can now cope with "https:" URLs. A problem where the service process spawned by TCPSRUN would inherit an open file handle for the *.RUN file has been fixed. TCPSRUN now ensures that the socket handle does not leak if it was unable to spawn a process. DNS{F,R}CPD and DNSQRY now support the /LARGEUDP option. There is now a DNSGETSRV command. DNSGETMX now prints distance information and has a /B option to disable this. Lewis/Chrstian, drop a line to Andy Roberts , (he's the gate for the various beta programs), requesting to join the beta trials/program of "Internet-Utilities".... I think it'd be worth your time :-) I do have the latest drop (IU-1-15), via Andy and these would address some of the issues/complexities raised here ! BTW. Jonathan DeBoyne Pollard produced "OS2Clu" and "CMD" - both excellent enhancements to command-line works.
