Today at my daughter's school I got an IP address via DHCP from theirMake sure there is no socks server in your socks.cfg file as bogus socks servers will cause this condition though the same thing should have happened with your initial lan connection if that was the case. What are you using to get the connection over wifi? Are you changing mpts? Using the wxlan? Scripts? It really sounds like some sort of firewall thing which is why my first question was the socks file. I would try telnet and ftp. Maybe telnet to one of the web servers on port 80.
LAN and could access the web and also my POP mail. However when I
logged on to the WiFi network, I could ping and run traceroute but
could not access anything via the browser or any POP/SMTP transactions.
(All timed out.)
What could have happened to cause this so I know the right questions
to ask when I return tomorrow?
