As most of you probably already know, I'll be doing a half-day class
in Denver on WiFi/2 (hey, I like the look of that acronym...not very
original, but it does the trick, huh?). I plan to assemble a WiFi
LAN with a make-believe internet connection. Besides the basic setup
and 128-bit WEP configuration, is there anything else that anyone
thinks I should cover in particular? Hotspot stuff is usually pretty
easy (no encryption; turn off peer services). Tips for hotels (mind
the SSID; dealing with captive portals)? Incompatible security (EAP,
LEAP, TKIP, WPA)? VPN concerns? Channel-hopping?
Input is greatly appreciated. Hope to see many of you there!!
Hello Lewis,
Alas I cannot attend as I'm in Sydney.
Would it be possible to make available a copy of the class/seminar
(txt/inf/pdf), so that we may see what we have to do to setup wi-fi.
My concerns are :
1. Soho wi-fi & it's security from prying eyes.
2. Setting up for use on the road (via Hot-Spots), and the related
security of such links ?
