PCI is one of the sticking points regarding WiFi support. However, bridge adaptors do work and are configured via a web browser, so you could get a "G" wireless bridge adaptor that hooks up local to your desktop with a ethernet cable into the unit. You could also get an adaptor for your printer that you could share via one of the adaptor's extra ports which some have, to keep you from having to have the desktop 'on' 24/x7 to provide printer support.
