This is where we need to keep our attention focused. (See http://wifinetnews.com/archives/003931.html for some insight.) That said, the Open1x project (www.open1x.org) has developed and released an open source supplicant (Xsupplicant, for *nix) for 802.1x authentication (802.1x is now a subset of 802.11i), and we can only hope that our friends in the *nix community will hack together something with usable sources so that we can effectively port it to OS/2. Meanwhile, legacy networks will continue for some time using 128-bit WEP and TKIP (WPA) methods, from what I can see.
