I think, Neil, that Sam means that if there were a problem at the server and/or AP side of the connection (it appears he's using the same server for DHCP from two AP's; one using WEP and one without), he would see a similar delay when booted to Windoze and connecting via the WEP-enabled AP.

I don't follow your reasoning. Wouldn't the Windows software and the OS/2
soffware be different, and therefore interact with the firmware differently?
