This, of course (the availability of tri-mode APs) makes transitioning an investment in 802.11a client hardware easier to handle, and the phasing in of 802.11g pretty straightforward. As Neil has pointed out, hotspots are still running 802.11b gear, and even Sputnik's managed APs are 802.11b based. >2. Syncing via IR works (sort of), but the whole line-of-sight thing gets to be a pain. BT would eradicate this. All that said, before I could even use BT, I would need a compatible sync application, so all of this sort of puts the cart before the horse...! -- Lewis ------------------------------------------------------------ Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA Rosenthal & Rosenthal Accountants / Network Consultants New York / Northern Virginia www.2rosenthals.com Team OS/2 / NetWare Users International www.novell.com ------------------------------------------------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to steward@2rosenthals.com with the command "unsubscribe os2-wireless_users" in the body (omit the quotes).
