I thought they were encoded and need to be decoded to change them
to mpegs. Last month I started copying some programs to dvd for my
wife (using xp) and it was a long learning curve for me to learn
how to do this. What I think happens is that the software decodes
them before writing them back to the dvd as mpegs. Maybe I
misunderstand the process.
