Might as well live on the edge... :-D I was at a client in Virginia with a new WRT54G v8 (lousy model, BTW; quite quirky). I had to flash it with DD-WRT in order to get it to do what I needed (I didn't supply the router, either). I thought for a few minutes that I really had bricked it, too.... However, I just turned it off and let it sit for about ten minutes, powered it back up, and there it was. All in all, a very nice surprise. That's not to say that I haven't bricked my share of these boxes, of course... :-) I don't have one handy with factory firmware in it right now, or I'd volunteer to test a few combinations. If I get my hands on one, though, I'll let you know. -- Lewis ------------------------------------------------------------ Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA, CLP, CLE Rosenthal & Rosenthal, LLC Accountants / Network Consultants New York / Northern Virginia www.2rosenthals.com eComStation Consultants www.ecomstation.com Novell Users Int'l www.novell.com/openenterpriseserver Need a managed Wi-Fi hotspot? www.hautspot.com ------------------------------------------------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
