The switch is indeed on, and it works in XP with or without encryption and
on eCS without encryption.
The 3945 does indeed do WPA and WPA2. My experience, however, has shown that you will have the best luck using WPA2 Personal (or PSK) Mixed on the router with TKIP+AES (this allows either or both options to be used). If you don;t have the option of "mixed" (see below), then opt for WPA.
I've still not found a combination that works in eCS. I'll go back to XP
in another day or two and find out which combinations work there and post
the results.
I'm not sure I'm ready to flash with DD-WRT - I'm scared of bricking it:-(
