Just a bit of lateral thinking here. The laptop is connected via WIFI right? That means the ethernet port is free. How about a crossover cable ATA to the laptop and turn on IP forwarding in the laptop. You would need the wired stuff to use a different subnet to the hotel of course but they are usually 192* so use the 10* range. The only problem I can see is the usual one of the ATA IP being buried in the string and NAT not seeing it - but I guess you will be going via some proxy that sorts that out anyway. If you have not got built in WIFI and are using an ASUS or similar then pick up a PCMCIA network card.
