Ed thanks for all the useful info.
Do you mean the WRT54G will not be configurable to log in to e.g. a hotel's login page,
if I modify the firmware to add the bridging function?
We have two applications in mind:
- My friend the clueless point-and-drool Mac user, who often travels and takes his
Motorola ATA with him to receive Vonage calls forwarded transparently from his NYC residence
- My own occasional situation with my early-days Cisco ATA (I was one of the
early Vonage customers--they no longer use the Cisco model ); at home I connect it to my PBX so calls from the USA ring into my home PBX here in Bangkok. Occasionally I might travel with it.
OS/2: a separate issue for me.
Let us know what you get from keeping after the SJPhone people.
There is a Java-based IP phone service which works on OS/2; I have the details lying around here somewhere; it was tested some time last year.
