First, let me thank everyone for the overwhelmingly very helpful replies. I think I can safely conclude the following: 1. I may still be able to "own" my domain name but need to go to register it via a different entity than Yahoo! to establish possession. 2. I'm really wasting my time with the big ISPs when it comes to web-hosting. 3. I would be much better off using a decent ISP and expending my energies somewhere other than operating my own mail server. Oh, and the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well on this list!
