Hello:

Let me know if I need to take this elsewhere.

When installing RC3 to my MSI K8N Neo4
motherboard (MS-7125), the Marvell Gigabit
Ethernet Adapter is identified and appears to
install correctly.  However, when I attempt
to connect to the internet via DSL, copying
the configuration working on another system
(with InJoy Firewall 3.0), I am unable to
reach my ISP.  The DSL modem shows activity
each time IJFW attempts to connect suggesting
that the card has been installed correctly.
But, LANTRAN.LOG shows:

LT00073:FFST/2 is installed but not started.  LANTRAN.LOG is being
created.
IBM OS/2 LANMSGDD [05/21/04] 6.00 is loaded and operational.
IBM OS/2 LAN Netbind

I'm not clear whether the contents of
LANTRAN.LOG is relevant since the only
protocol I installed was TCPIP.

Thanks for any thoughts or requests for
additional information or redirection to
another forum.

Dave, which GenMAC driver package are you using? I can't find a 3C90X anywhere, nor a wrapper directory for this PCI ID. I do have a spare 3CN3AC1556B, however, and a couple Xircom combo cards. I may have another Intel in a hulk around here (currently, I'm sending this from a new RC3 build on my youngest daughter's "new" T21 which I cobbled together yesterday - this one does have a working Intel combo, though I'm not sure of the modem support).

From VOICE newsletter 04/2004:

OS/2 Support for Gigabit Ethernet: update

e) OS/2 Support for Gigabit Ethernet: update

In addition to the chipsets we listed in our previous NewsFlash (Intel,
Broadcom and RT8169), there are several other Gigabit and Fast Ethernet
chipsets supported by a single driver ("GenMAC") that automatically
detects the chipset in use.

Currently, the following Gigabit Ethernet chipsets are supported
- 3Com 3C940 (3COM 3C2000) 10/100/1000 Ethernet (rev 12) [Marvell Gbit
Core IP]
- Syskonnect (Schneider & Koch) SK98xx [Marvell Gbit Core IP]
- National Semiconductor NS-DP83820 Gigabit (DP83820/1 10/100/1000 Mb/s
PCI Ethernet NIC)
- Realtek 8169s/8110s

Furthermore, the following Fast Ethernet chipsets are supported:
- 3Com 3C90x? PCI (3C920B-EMB Integrated Fast Ethernet Controller)
- 3Com 3C90xC M-PCI (3C555 Laptop Hurricane)
- 3Com 3C90xC M-PCI (3C556 10/100 Fast Ethernet MiniPCI Adapter)
<============
- 3Com 3C90xC M-PCI (3CN3AC1556B MiniPCI 10/100 Ethernet (+Modem56k))
- 3Com 3C90xC PCI (3C905C-TX Fast EtherLink for PC Management NIC)
- nVidia nForce Ethernet (nForce MCP Networking Adapter)
- nVidia nForce2 Ethernet (nForce MCP2 Networking Adapter)
- nVidia nForce3 Ethernet (nForce MCP3 Networking Controller)
- SiS 900 Fast Ethernet/Home Networking Ctrlr Genmac200.*
