To add to Lewis' discussion, I saw a note from another guy testing eCS RC3 and
he suggested opening MPTS (adapters and protocols), make some minor change to
the current settings, then change it back. Save the "changes". That get
protocol.ini file written properly - or at least it did for me last night. I
changed the default ssid entry for the adapter to my local access point and it
connected on re-boot.
BTW, I may be in the minority but I had to manually install the xwlan widget.
