Does encryption apply to POP and SMPT?  I used Godaddy for a short period but
dropped them because they were filtering a lot of good email.  I did not see
any secure services listed there.

Maybe.  I will have to check if my current service offers a secure connection.
I have not seen any ISP advertise secure email connections.  This would help
keep the password from being exposed but if will not keep the message secure
unless you send the message encrypted to the intended receiver.
