Hi, Thomas.

Hi:
A few weeks ago I requested from D-Link information about the chipset used in their DWA-645 WLAN
PCMCIA card and here is what I got. I hope this makes sense to somebody out there. That is I hope it will answer my question about a "driver" to use with this card.
D-Link DWA-645 PC Card adapter
Chipset Vendor: Atheros
Chipset: AR2133 3x3 MIMO Radio
Processor Family: AR5008 -3ng, AR5416 MAC/Baseband Processor
IEEE Standards: 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n
Use with "Range Booster N650 Rooter"
What, if any, driver would be the best to use with this PC Card adapter?
I second Neil's comments (thanks for the good words about my session yesterday, Neil!) concerning the doubtful support for this card under GenMAC. Currently, I see support for three Atheros chipsets in GenMAC 2.0:
Atheros Wlan [168C:0012]
Atheros Wlan [168C:0013]
Atheros Wlan [168C:1014]
I can't readily find a PCI ID string for the card with a quick Google search, but if you run pci.exe and can identify the hardware, you might try submitting a request on the GenMAC-user list.
For hotspot use, the Cisco 350 is truly a great card. I have a couple left, so if you would like one, please send me an email directly (lgrosenthal [AT} the same domain as this list). :-)
PS - While the 802.11n spec references 2x2 (two transmitters and two receivers), I have seen 4x4 models, but never a 3x3. This Atheros card has some great reviews, too. It would be nice to support the chipset, even if only the PCI-Express model (though that wouldn't do you much good with your PC Card).
