I don't know if your system has the same BIOS setting I do, but check the SATA settings. In my case, depending on the ACPI level, the SATA may be REQUIRED to use 'Compatibility' setting. I know that the ACPI that comes with RC2 [V3.01, dated 24-Aug-2007] by default MUST have this setting. OTOH, I am using 3.03, dated 02-Oct-2007, and I can use the SATA(AHCI) mode. 'Compatibility' also works with the more recent ACPI levels, but it causes the stand-alone DFSee to have a problem. Don't know if this is applicable to your situation, but it's worth a look.
