I couldn't get the widget or the stand-alone to operate on my A30p.  It
also had everthing grayed out.  But, I think that was because the
adapter was not specifically supported by WLAN.  So, I'm still using
the WiFiMon.

Initially, the problem I had on the T60 looked the same, because the
radio would not turn on.  Eventually, upgrading to ACPI 3.2 [now using
3.3] and the test GenMacs [now using 2.1] worked.  It took both of
these to get them working.

I'm not sure what magic WLAN performs, but it manages to assign an IP
when switching from WiFi to Wired.  The only thing is, you have to get
the Wireless to work first.

There is one question that has not been asked...  [Please don't take it
as insulting, 'cause I didn't know at first either.]
Do you have the switch underneath the left-front of the
   keyboard turned on?
The switch is an easy way to kill the WiFi adapter if you are out in
public and want to protect against sneak attacks, the switch turns the
radio on/off.

Possibly you said earlier and I missed it:  Have you tried using the
WiFi on Windoze just to be sure:
a)  The adapter is working.
b)  The switch is working.

Another thing to watch during the boot up:
Does the WiFi icon light under the screen flicker
while the system is coming up?
After the boot is complete, the light should be on.  If it is off,
that's the problem.

Another question about what you see at boot time:
Do you see the GenMac messages [in GREEN on the screen]
confirm recognition of the adapters. - Two sets, one for
    each adapter.
If the messages are red and/or the version of the drivers is not:
    "Release Version 2.1 built Oct 23 2007 09:21:13"
then you do not have the 'latest' level.

Other than this, I'm running short of ideas.

Carl
