They were /not/ double-density DVD-Rs.

One thing to check anyway is whether the DVD-Rs that you have a double density (or what the correct term is) - 8.5 GB capacity instead of 4.7GB - these are NOT backwards compatible to standard DVD burners.

DVD-multiburner in his TP running Win and the drive worked fine; (2) I
had also given the same person one of my Staples DVD which he tried and
found to work; and (3) my machine supposedly burns both DVD+R and DVD-R
disks and 8x ought to be fast enough.

But perhaps I am wrong about the ability to use DVD-Rs or the need for
speed with this burner?

Neil,

Still have not gotten my unit to work properly with RSJ 6.0 despite
trying the various configurations offered over the past few days.  I
notice, however, that you and I have the same model of DVD drive but
that my system tab says "ATAPI RAW-3" instead of "ATAPI CUESHEET".

Any ideas what this means?
