Hobbes to download a minimal terminal-program to explore further with. I can add that if I type echo "ATE0V1^SYSCFG=14,2,40000000,1,2" > com1

in a command window, the response is "the drive is not ready", trying
everything from com through com5 results in the same response while
com6 results in "the system cannot find the device specified," thus
there seems to be something on one of the COM-ports.  It is odd though,
that the report below talks about SCSI command set...
