Well "good on ya" as the Aussies say - for being willing to try this 
out. As you say without people taking the risk to test we wont make any 
progress. I wonder if it's worth asking the Access Point manufacturers 
if they support access from the Intel chip based 802.11N client - it may 
be that some of them have tested and approved the cards.
