Belkin f5d7233 There are some standard size routers that can also be AP clients which have Power over Ethernet.  Would like to use access point without
needing another ac power adapter.   So usb or poe seem necessary.  Does POE require another kit to use power for AP from nic?

Comments on above models appreciated.  Airwire seems the nicest though cannot find any place in North America to buy it.

Slowly most public access points are changing to 802.11G and in some cases not accepting B, so better to go with G. The client (your side) will switch down to B if required to.

I've new used any of these devices, however I have seen several people refer to the dlink device as being good.

Don't go USB connection - you wont be able to connect to it from eCS / OS/2 as simply (if at all) - better to go with ethernet, perhaps POE but only if you have a fallback to using a power supply as some laptops may not have the capability of powering and external ethernet device - best to check with your laptop manufacturer if this is possible.
