Hi Lewis,

OK, I put the PCMCIA Huawei E630 Turbo3G card back in the machine and
played around with it.    Here are my findings:

First, the PCMCIA Socket Controller does not seem to change any of its
settings with the card inserted -- IRQ Level, DMA Channel, Memory
notebook page controls are all blank, I/O ports show "0x3E1-0x3E4
Address Lines: 16 EXC" regardless of whether the card is inserted or
not.

Second, the PCMCIA Auto Configurator does not list this card (of
course.)

Third, The Plug & Play for PCMCIA does recognize that a card has been
inserted but Product Information is lacking.  It seems to be recognized
as a Memory card and the Status is In.

Hi Hakan,

Are you sure this is a 16 bit PCMCIA card and not a 32 bit cardbus card ? If it is cardbus, you wont use the PCMCIA services. In fact if you have PCMCIA services loaded you need to disable them for the slot where the cardbus card is installed by a parameter in config.sys. If you don't have any other PCMCIA cards in the system, the simplest option is to remove  PCMCIA services all to gether and install the cards OS/2 drivers as it the card were a PCI card in a desktop PC.

If you don't have OS/2 drivers for the card, I don't think you will be able to get it working. Looking on the net, there appears to be a true USB version of this card, you "may" be able to get that working as a USB serial device, as long as the USB ports in your laptop work with the OS/2 USB drivers of course.

Cheers/2

Ed.
