I would suggest moving to at least 1.7.10. I'm sure mine was working with 1.7.4, though, so that's probably not the issue.

What happens when you switch your DANIATAP.FLT back to:

BASEDEV=DANIATAP.FLT /EJ /A:1 /U:0 /TYPE:ZWL /RSJ
No difference, two drives show up. Have not tried a later version
(yet).
The latest levels, from Dani's DOC files:
"Daniela's S506 ADD - Release 1.8.1"
"Daniela's generic ATAPI Filter - Release 0.4.0"
Why not get the very latest?

I have had some major issues with 1.8.1 / 0.4.0 on my T43 (see earlier in this thread where I mentioned no DVD access whatsoever; Andy also had some problems - however, now that I'm able to run ACPI 3.03 on the T43 with no apparent ill effects, I may give 1.8.1 / 0.4.0 another shot).

FWIW, I'm running ACPI 3.2 not 3.3. V3.3 kept me from booting.

Two questions:
1) Do you have RSJ 6.01? Supposedly, that level is required to get
some specific DVD problems from 5.x and 6.00.
First, remember that this is really Hakan's thread, relating to duplicate drive letters being assigned to his DVD.

I am indeed running 6.01. Perhaps my Dani 1.8.1 issues on the T43 were related to APM vs ACPI. I'm going to give it another shot.
2) If your device is not being recognized, have you updated cddrv.inf
to include the EXACT text that is returned by the device? IIRC
from when I first installed RSJ 4.x on my A30p, that value is key
to having the device recognized. My T60 DVD is in the table for
6.01 already, so I had nothing to change. What is your DVD string?

My DVD is indeed recognized just fine right now. Dani 1.8.1 seemed to leave me without an accessible DVD device. I suggest we focus on Hakan's issue in this OT thread, and if I have a problem after my next go-round with 1.8.1, I'll post to eCS-Technical, which is probably more apropos.

My view of this thread, FWIW: Get the latest software and don't risk
hitting problems that have already been fixed.

I tend to agree, as long as the latest and greatest works! ;-)

I guess I'm surprised it is not working on a T61. Is it really that
different?

It works just fine on Diane's T61. My problem was with the T43 under APM (no ACPI). ;-)

Works fine here on my T42 with APM.  I initially had problems because of an extraneous danis506.add that was on the root of my boot drive that was at the wrong level.  I hadn't even thought to look at the root initially.
Andy
