I have had some major issues with 1.8.1 / 0.4.0 on my T43 (see earlier 
in this thread where I mentioned no DVD access whatsoever; Andy also had 
some problems - however, now that I'm able to run ACPI 3.03 on the T43 
with no apparent ill effects, I may give 1.8.1 / 0.4.0 another shot).
