It's a mix; some will work fine in the drive under one OS and fail miserably under another. I have had OS/2 kernel revisions which completely hosed my ability to burn any media. Glad you got something working, however. I tend to stick with Maxell or TDK media, FWIW; I've just had good luck with them. In my video burner, Staples media works just fine, so that's what I use in it.
