Folks that don't consider themselves driver programmers have done an excellent job of bringing the code into sync with the current ALSA code base. In addition, they have corrected more than a few defects generated by the process. Funding is useful, but it is hardly a guarantee of sucess. Motivated individuals provide a much better chance for success. I prefer to not conclude that something will fail until it has had a chance to fail. I also prefer to assume that motivated individuals will learn more than they may think they can.
