This would occur anywhere from a few hours after a reboot to only a few minutes. When the reboot came up this way, that's when I backed off to the previous level. * Move the system from battery to wall power shut the system down completely, but did not really complete the power off sequence. Had to complete the power off with the button, and then reboot. Reboot always had dirty HDs and needed CHKDSK to complete. * Occasionally, just removing power would lock up as above. * Booting on battery only would not complete. Had to attach power cord and reboot. Again, dirty HDs resulted. I am now back on 20070809 and, while I don't get any suspend, etc., at least the system will keep running. I have opened a ticket and reported this on the ACPI support forum. No response yet. Lots of details on that site if someone wants more info. Re: Discuss at Warpstock...
