OK, that was what I saw in the settings "notebook" as well.  What
configuration mistake could I have made that makes "ipconfig /all" show
that the machine has received an IP address from router, recognizes the
router by name but yet I am unable to either surf the net with IE and
ping any machine on my network with the error message "request timed
out?"
