I have a couple T42's dual booting between XP and Warp CP2, a T23 with a WG511T I think I finally got reli= able on Warp (think it was STACK32 that finallydid it), a 600e with an older= WG511 'doze only G card, and several wired machines. So I have some experience with this particular network topology. Now on the T42's I h= ave no problems using the built in adapter connecting with Warp wirelessly,= but on one of them under XP it refuses to connect to my WEP non beaconing A= P. However, hat particular one will connect to my public totally open "gue= st" hotspot. Both the WEP non beaconing router and the totally open guest router are NetGear 614s running in G mode only. On that 'doze T42 runn= ing Thinkpad Access Connections, when I unplug the wired connection from a "best available" profile, or set up a Wireless only profile for that subnet, Access Connections attempts but always fails the wireless connection to the WEP router. If I switch to the "public" profile, it connects just fine to the other router. (DHCP in all cases. I even tr= ied an appropriate hard coded address) On the other hand, the other T42 doesn't have this problem at all. And Warp has no problems either with= the wireless connection. Any idea what might be causing the problems on th= at one T42 when accessing that 1 router wirelessly from XP? (even from 10 = feet away). I've cut and pasted the hex keys several times, etc. When I ha= ve to run XP on that one wirelessly on that particular subnet, I end up plugging in a pocket bridge into the wired port. I just kinda chalk it= up to 'doze never liking me...
