There are two (known) PCI ID's for the 2915: 4223 and 4224. In your GenMAC driver directory, make sure you have the subdirectory: 11-15-06 10:27p 0 ---- WRAPPER_8086_4223 And in there, something similar to the following: 3-05-06 10:31a 2,950 0 ---- W29N51.INF 7-19-05 8:14p 3,289,088 208 ---- W29N51.SYS I am using the following drivers for the 4224: 2-08-07 1:30p 119,850 0 a--- w29n51.inf 5-13-07 8:05p 2,209,408 0 a--- w29n51.sys Which build of GenMAC are you using? From PROTOCOL.INI (should be similar for the 4223 ID - note the change necessary to the section and DEVICE): [W8086X4224_nif] DriverName = WRND32$ VENDOR = 0x8086 DEVICE = 0x4224 NDIS_SYS = "W29N51.SYS" NDIS_INF = "W29N51.INF" SSID = "ANY" DEBUGLEVEL = "NONE" OPTIONS = "STACK32" STACK32 I've found to be important. In particular, when I first started experimenting, I could not load UNIAUD and GenMAC (for this card, at least) without it (I got the beep symptom Ed described and a hang at boot). Also for troubleshooting, try REMMING your USB statements (ISTR some issues tweaking those up at first). I believe I have a similar configuration in Diane's T30 with the 2915 card. > That's one thing about my T30. Again, sorry to hear of your troubles, and if it looks like a flakey card, I'll send you another to swap and test out. -- Lewis ------------------------------------------------------------ Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA, CLP, CLE Rosenthal & Rosenthal, LLC Accountants / Network Consultants New York / Northern Virginia www.2rosenthals.com eComStation Consultants www.ecomstation.com Novell Users Int'l www.novell.com/openenterpriseserver Need a managed Wi-Fi hotspot? www.hautspot.com ------------------------------------------------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
