On the T30 use the soundmax audio drivers from the IBM website rather than UniAud.
Hello:
I had significant problems with the miniPCI adapter
installation and eventually had to remove the card
in order to be able to connect to the Internet.
My favorite bus reader found
"Device 4223h PRO/Wireless 2915ABG MiniPCI Adapter."
However, my attempts to install it with GenMAC were
repeatedly frustrated. For one thing, the installer
appeared to be choosing the wrong *.nif and related
files to install to support it. My attempts to find
the correct file(s) and install manually led to the
refusal to boot. Did I need to be using Stack32?
Part of the PCI bus readout included:
"Cache line size 32 Bytes (8 DWords)"
That's one thing about my T30. If I make a mistake
installing networking (and almost any time I run
MPTN) it refuses to boot. With PCs, it seems to me
that I could always hit enter after each pause in
loading drivers and eventually have them boot, albeit
without networking. I guess the hardware situation
(IRQs mostly, I suppose) is too tight on the T30 to
allow even a relatively small conflict.
Anyway, I want to get one of my PCs connected to the
Internet before I try to install the card again.
I thought it would be relatively simple. :->
Best Regards,
