Actually, on my T60 with the 3945ABG [8086:4227], and the latest
'experimental' drivers from GenMac, both the WiFi and the PRO/1000
[8086:109A] are working flawlessly!
As a specific example, I have not rebooted the T60 since Sunday [about
4 days]. Since that reboot, I have moved the system from the docking
station that has the Wired connection to the living room [WiFi
connection] at least two round trips. It has switched from one adapter
to the other without failing or locking up. And, this obviously means
going from plug to battery and back.
That said, the only problem I have noticed is, every time I go back to
the Dock and want to print to my Lexmark Optra laser printer, the
system cannot see the printer. It insists it is 'off line' in the
nastygram that is popped up. I believe this to be an ACPI problem. I
am going to have to reboot shortly because I want to print some files.
Otherwise, there would be no need.
And, the other ACPI that has been rather widely reported: Rebooting
without actually powering the system off is not possible. No matter
which option is selected from the eCenter for ShutDown [Power off,
Reboot, Shutdown], the result is a locked up system. MANUAL power off
is required. In the case of the 'Power Off' selection, you also suffer
the 'Dirty Drive' situation that means one or more CHKDSKs before the
boot will complete.
