No, I only requested another DHCP lease and that failed to reconnect to
the network. As for the hibernation partition, it is neither fish nor
fowl. A dedicated program from the TP website lays down the partition
and ties it into the BIOS.

disk on my TP43p last week and installed a separate hibernation
partition using the TP tool. I can now hibernate from eCS using
Fn-F12 and the system wakes up OK with the exception of the wired
connection being lost. I have not figured out a way of restoring it
unless I reboot.

Did you have to use FAT for the implementation (system partition and hibernation partition) ?
