Well, it is a fact that, with my T60 that has Intel PRO/1000 [wired a.k.a., 8086:109A], and Intel 3945ABG Wireless [a.k.a., 8086:4227], if I boot the system with BOTH a cable and the WiFi radio ON, I do get the message box indicated. My impression is that this is actually coming from xWLAN, but I cannot swear to it. > >You can write your own REXX program to implement transparent switching, but it >won't be fast, because of the OS/2 DHCP client. So once we have a new DHCP >client, we can also have fast, transparent switching. IF I have the wired connection working, and turn the radio on, the message also appears. If I am running the WiFi, turn the radio off, I have to issue a command to switch from the WiFi to the wired connection. n.b., This command and process is the same as I have been using for years on my old A30p. The actual command was passed around various MailLists and I just copied it with a few tweaks. > >Finally, there is some advantage in the features provided by GenMac over the >standard OS/2 drivers, even the 8139 driver, which is one of the best. > >GenMac implements NDIS 5, rather than NDIS 2.
