I totally agree. The 8139 has excellent OS/2 support.

I disgree. I believed that this was the plan for XWLAN eventually. You would
not want this logic at the driver level for many reasons.

You can write your own REXX program to implement transparent switching, but it
won't be fast, because of the OS/2 DHCP client. So once we have a new DHCP
client, we can also have fast, transparent switching.

Finally, there is some advantage in the features provided by GenMac over the
standard OS/2 drivers, even the 8139 driver, which is one of the best.

GenMac implements NDIS 5, rather than NDIS 2. I'm not conversant with the API
differences, but they allow, for example, some of the new features for XWLAN.
