My experience is that with the card installed, the system stops booting 
and gives an 1802 error. If one has OS/2 installed already the patch can 
be run from an OS/2 DOS environment but if the system wont boot you can 
get to OS/2, hence the need to remove the card.

If one has not got OS/2 installed yet, then the patch can be applied 
after booting the system from a DOS diskette, even in this case, the 
card must be removed to get to the point where the OS boots.
