I would say you have a good chance of that driver working ! It's a SiS 900 NIC (which I had never heard of) and the driver looks right, so see how you go !

I have one of these in one computer here with a Asus MB. It works fine with eCS. I think though I used a driver by Wildbald at the time. But heres a bunch of SIS900 drivers: http://www.os2site.com/sw/drivers/network/index.html

Thanks for pointing this out - there are a couple of newer drivers than the one I have.

At the moment, I have a problem with the SIS LAN port due to the presence of another LAN adapter which results in this error on bootup

PRO0030: Multiple adapters are trying to use the same interrupt level.  The request to bind VECTOR to SIS900_NIF cannot be completed.

Not sure how to specify interrupts for different NICs... perhaps I need to set the SLOT value for the SIS port...

This isn't neccessarily another LAN card, purely an interface using the same IRQ - could be anything. You basically have run out of available interupts.

I would recommend you go through CMOS and disable anything you don't need. Do you have a parrallel attached printer or is it USB connected ? If you don't need the parrallel port disable it as this can free off an IRQ (if so configured - parrallel ports can run "Irq-less"). what about serial ports - do you use a dial-up modem or a broadband (ethernet connected) modem. If you don't need the serial ports disable each of those - 2 more free IRQs. If you only have hardware connected to the first IDE or SATA controller, disable any controller that is not needed - again another free IRQ. and so on.

Cheers/2

Ed.
