I've recently acquired a more uptodate motherboard which includes a LAN port on it.You need to first of all find out what the chipset is.
How do I find out if there is any OS/2 support for it?
This should be stated in the manual. Alternatively, it will have come with a windows driver CD - the directory name for the NIC drivers may tell you what the NIC is or you can go into the INF file with a text editor and it should say in there.
If all of these do not return the data, you can use a utility like PCI.EXE to tell you the vendor and device IDs and if you download the latest reference file (cross platform I believe) it will tell you what the device is - or simply search on the web to find this info.
The LAN port is integrated into the motherboard. It'sn't new and I don't have any docs for it.
According to PCI:-
Bus 0 (PCI), Device Number 1, Device Function 1
Vendor 1039h Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS)
Device 0900h SiS900 10/100 Ethernet Adapter
Command 0007h (I/O Access, Memory Access, BusMaster)
Status 0290h (Has Capabilities List, Supports Back-To-Back Trans.,
Medium Timing)
Revision 83h, Header Type 00h, Bus Latency Timer 20h
Minimum Bus Grant 34h, Maximum Bus Latency 0Bh
Self test 00h (Self test not supported)
PCI Class Network, type Ethernet
Subsystem ID 09001039h SiS900 10/100 Ethernet Adapter (Generic ID)
Subsystem Vendor 1039h Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS)
Address 0 is an I/O Port : E400h..E403h
Address 1 is a Memory Address (0-4GiB) : DD102000h
System IRQ 11, INT# C
Expansion ROM of 128 KiB decoded by this card, currently disabled
Once you know what the NIC chipset is, you can check the GenPak documentation or on os2warp.be to see if there any OS/2 native drivers (or at the chipset manufacturers site of course). If these don't list the device, you can check the doco with the latest version of the Genmac wrapper driver to see if it supports it.
os2warp.be includes this
http://www.os2warp.be/nicpak/files/sis.zip
which contains a SIS900.NIF file with the following
[SIS900]
Type = NDIS
Title = "SIS 900/7016 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter"
Version = 1.13
Drivername = SIS900$
Xports = NETBEUI LANDD
I guess this looks like it should work..
