Are you sure you have 8.5GB writable DVDs not 4.7GB ones ? Video DVDs use the larger capacity.

Ed, this thread isn't mine; I'm not compaining of any difficulty copying what I should be copying. Copyrighted Video DVDs  do not copy onto *any* media, as they should not, in any case. I can burn data DVDs - and copy non-copyrighted video DVDs - onto any media (-R, RW, DL - even +R, I think).

It's Hakan who is having difficulty writing DVDs. :-)
