However....If I set the SSID to my router in MPTN, I get internet fine.
I know I used to have xwlan working on that machine so I'm baffeled. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You are using the Cisco 350 drivers (CiscoPCM.0.91.zip), which do support xwlan and also support the 340, and not the earlier 340/350 drivers (Cisco340WIRELESS.ZIP), which do not support xwlan?
