Lew, Toshiba told me today that they would ship my "free upgrade" to Vista by
the weekend.  Is that the same as turning a new virus loose on the net <g>.

fwiw, I'm reading online that running an actual upgrade to Vista is very iffy..one article is called "Vista upgrade: Brace yourself for 'nightmare'" and things like the real cost of the Vista upgrade coupons....

Considering how rough a Warp 4 to eCS upgrade can be, we don't have much of an edge on them. I was lucky with the few NT 4 -> W2K upgrades we did; everything came over pretty much as expected, with the usual kinks (drivers, mostly). That said, I'm not a fan of upgrading, unless it's NetWare. Even then, there are some file system changes which can complicate matters.

Of course, for Windows users, considering the standard M$ line about "reinstall the operating system" to correct even the most minor errors, a clean install should come as no surprise.

Good links, Stan. Thanks for sending them.

Wil, good point. Good point, indeed!! :-)
