After monitoring the interface logs for the past few hours, I have determined it best to fail back over to our backup connection. While the bandwidth on the primary link appears on the surface to be consistent, the connection itself is not. I am seeing multiple disconnect/reconnect events, and I have received reports of broken connections while retrieving email.
At approximately 12pm EST, I did receive a telephone call from Verizon support, advising me that our ticket was indeed still open. Unfortunately, the representative was not able to give me any more information about the condition of the line, as her own test software was offline. I asked her to record in the ticket the latest performance statistics I was able to glean from our Astaro-based firewall logs, which she did.
