I agree with you. Nearly my first act when configuring a new TP is to disable the touchpad in BIOS. I dislike touchpads even more than mice. I frequently have opportunities to observe others using their laptops and amazed at how much effort they must exert with touchpads to ensure that the cursor goes where they intend, that they tap correctly, and that they don't hit the pad inadvertently. The Trackpoint and Logitech Trackman Marble Wheel are my preferred computer pointing devices. In my experience they are more accurate than mice and touchpads and less likely to cause overuse injuries than mice. - Mark Mark Henigan --
