well it should, its only v1.0 usb.......

Well, for whatever reason, it has never installed correctly with the OS install, and I have not even been able to install it myself until about a year ago. It has been a royal PIA.

why don't you look for a t42?  I saw them recently for under $300......

Well, the truth is that I really do not like the touchpads and the way the case is enlarged to accommodate them. I know. Most would call me silly.

Have a great day, Stan!

Hi Stu,

I agree with your comments on the touchpad, I much prefer the small joystick button or ideally an external mouse.

There are models of the T42 without that touchpad and in any case you can disable it in the BIOS - but as you say in either case the space is used, however in the models without the touchpad, that area of the laptop makes a good wrist rest area.

Hello Stu and Ed:

Forgive the "me, too" post, but...  I agree with you.
Nearly my first act when configuring a new TP is to
disable the touchpad in BIOS.  I dislike touchpads
even more than mice.  I frequently have opportunities
to observe others using their laptops and amazed at
how much effort they must exert with touchpads to
ensure that the cursor goes where they intend, that
they tap correctly, and that they don't hit the pad
inadvertently.

The Trackpoint and Logitech Trackman Marble Wheel are
my preferred computer pointing devices.  In my
experience they are more accurate than mice and
touchpads and less likely to cause overuse injuries
than mice.
