I would replace both the .sys and .inf.  You can open the driver details button on the driver tab in the WinXP device manager to make sure that you are getting the proper .sys file for your card.  The .inf file is probably buried in the C:\drivers\... directory.  You may have to install the driver again to see where WinXP decided to put the .inf file.  It will normally have the same file name as the .sys file, but it could be different.

Hmmm... My first inclination would have been something to do with the amount
of video RAM you reserved. As that appears to not be the case (you did power
cycle after making that change, didn't you?), I might suspect something with
the Windows driver itself. Do you have Windows installed on the machine? I'd
be curious to know what version/timestamp the .inf & .sys files show.

The BIOS does an automatic power cycle when you save and exit.

I do have Windoze XP setup as dual boot on this machine, hence the
need for 2GB or RAM.

The driver in the Genmac package is dated 2004 and the one in XP is
2005.  The .inf file in XP is over 600k and the one in the genmac
package is only 1.7k so I don't know if it is the same/correct format.

Are the .inf and the .sys a set or can you just replace the .sys only?
I may just give a try anyway.

Thanks,
Sam
