Does anyone have any experience with the Netgear WGR614L wireless ethernet router?  It's open source and has OpenWRT, Tomato,DD-WRT and other firmware available at www.myopenrouter.com

Got one right here - but I haven't messed with any firmware.  One word of
caution: pay close attention to the version number on that router.  Mine is
marked V7 and best I recall, that was important when updating the firmware from
Netgear.  Sounds like some of the wireless cards where model xyz v4 was a whole
different animal than xyz v3 or xyz v5.

Thanks.  They're up to at least v8.  Can you open the firewall for Port 465 outbound?

It says I can - but I have no way to see whether it actually does.  Ah! Just went to another network via ssh and a portscan from there shows port
485 open, so it actually did open it.

Thanks.  The Actiontec GT724WGR will open Port 465 only when using NAT only, it won't open with any of the three levels of firewall.  Actiontec  support says that this a deliberate design.
