Never underestimate the power of nature... (Aside: Do > atheists get a discount on homeowners insurance premiums by opting out > of any coverage for "acts of g-d"? Just a random thought which occurred > to me...) That strikes a chord! I HATE roofs. My wife can't understand how I can be perfectly comfortable upside down in an airplane at 0 g yet go white knuckle after two steps on a ladder. I think we got into this once before, but surge/lightning protection is a science (or black art) al unto itself. Most people just can't grasp the magnitude of the power involved when lightning strikes. Just a thought for you: those puny surge protector strips are very limited but (especially for phone lines) one at the point of entry cascaded with a second one several feet away near the actual equipment reduces the surge MUCH better than a single point protection scheme. -- Will Honea
