Hi there... Fancy meeting you here? :-)

On 04/03/10 10:58 pm, Phil Parker thus wrote :
I have set the correct SSID, etc. as far as the XWlan configuration notebook
goes, but my new T43 can't find it.

I have MAC filtering turned on and I've entered both ethernet MAC addresses,
just in case I got the wrong one somehow for the first try.

The only thing I haven't seen how to set is the channel. The WiFi router is
using ch.1 - 2.412 GHz. How do I find out which channel(s) XWlan is searching?
Is there another setting somewhere to tell it to search channel 1?

Clients do not have a channel setting. The 802.11 spec calls for the client to scan all available channels.

Do you have beaconing enabled in the router (is it broadcasting the SSID)? If so, it should show up in the list of hotspots.
I have the T43 sitting near the AP that receives the WiFi for this machine,
"old faithful" for many years, so I don't think it's a "blind spot".

I doubt that's it. Perhaps the radio is stalled (Intel cards are known for that). You might want to try disabling and then re-enabling the radio, and make sure your Wi-Fi indicator is on on the T43. If that doesn't do it (i.e., the indicator comes on but you still can't see anything), try a cold boot cycle.
